Arte America's- Final

I am wrapping up my last week here at Arte Americas and being here has been a wonderful experience. I worked in many different sections of Arte and gained quite a bit of knowledge that not only applies to museums but also to any business or organization that exists. Things take time to accomplish and with that time requires planning, dedication, and determination.
All key aspects to exciting and idea or project. Something that really stood out to me though is just loving what you do. Someone once told me if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. And that's what I have seen here. Volunteers that come to Arte enjoy taking time out of their day to come help clean, or sit at the front desk, or even run errands, not because they get paid to do it, they dont, but because its what they want to do. Also the director here at Arte is very much like this, he is the only one that gets paid but he loves his job. When people come in he is excited and he'll take you on a tour of the exhibit and tells you in detail about every artist and what they were going through at the time when they were making their piece and what the piece is about. That's what I want. I don't want to become someone who gets up early in the morning just to go to any job. I want a career that I love with a passion. That keeps me getting up even though I might be sick in bed but I still have that urge to go to work. I want a job that puts a smile on my face every time someone asks me about my job.
That's what I have taken with me the most out of all these past five weeks in Washington and here at Arte Americas, because even in Washington I seen a group of very dedicated people who loved what they do and were happy to teach it to all of us.
