San Antonio Museum of Art- week 3

This week, I've had a different routine that I usually do. Monday and Tuesday were normal. In both these days I managed to push ahead with my research, making progress with my writing and interviews with the architects. I met with overland partners this week, an architecture firm with deep tie to The University of Texas, and by passing along my questions to the women in marketing helping me with my research, I was able to get all my questions answered by the architects of the building.

My time in the office has been quieter this week I'm used to having a bunch of teenagers around in the room next door with summer camp. The second story of the office building had also been unoccupied because the roof was under construction and all the people who normally worked there had been downstairs. Now, its just me, my boss and a few of the other interns on the first floor.

The Reason my routine this week has been so different from the usual was I returned to Austin Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for a leadership conference. The Hispanic Scholarship Consortium sponsored the event and I was able to network with more driven Latinos my age. My boss at my internship was very accommodating and I was able to work out a schedule with her so that I was able to come to this event.

Being a Young Ambassador has made me feel that dreams I've had, that once seemed so far off, are now so close to being accomplished I can see the steps to making it. I've found contacts that will be useful in my career path. I've learned how valuable the people I meet along the way are to accomplishing my dreams and that I can help them accomplish theirs. All of this has filled me with a drive and work ethic I've never known before. So thank you again, to the Smithsonian Latino Center, for giving me this opertunity
